Upload photos

Goal: bulk-upload photos (and PDFs) into a gallery.

Prerequisites

  • A gallery to upload into — see Create a gallery if you haven't made one yet.
  • Enough storage headroom in your plan. If an upload would push your company over its quota, it's rejected with a "Storage limit reached" message instead of partially uploading.
  1. Open the gallery from Photos, which lands you on the Photos tab of the gallery.
  2. Drag and drop files onto the upload area, or click browse files to pick them from your computer.
  3. Each file uploads individually with its own progress indicator; you can keep adding more files while earlier ones are still uploading.
  4. As soon as a file finishes uploading it appears in the photo grid with a spinner in place of a thumbnail — that's normal, see the note below.

Accepted file types

The uploader accepts: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, TIFF, PDF, common camera RAW formats (CR2/CR3, NEF/NRW, ARW, DNG, RAF, ORF, RW2, PEF, SRW, and others), and PSD/PSB. Each file can be up to 500 MB.

A photo doesn't have a real thumbnail the moment it's uploaded — it's picked up by the background process queue first. Until that finishes, you'll see a spinner instead of the image. See How thumbnails are built for what happens and how long it takes.
PDFs get their own icon in the grid rather than a photo thumbnail, and open in a new tab when clicked instead of the photo lightbox.

Removing a photo

Hover a photo and click the small button in its corner, then confirm. This deletes the file and its thumbnail from storage — it cannot be undone.
