Time tracking

Goal: log hours spent on a task, correct mistakes, and see how time adds up across a project or client.

Logging time

On a task's page, the Time Tracking section lets anyone on your team add an entry: hours, a date (defaults to today), and an optional note. Every entry is kept as its own line, so you have a log of when work happened, not just a single number. The task shows a running total at the top of the section.

Anyone on your team can add a time entry, not just the assignee — useful if a task changes hands partway through.

Editing and deleting entries

Logged 8 hours when you meant 0.8? Each entry has Edit and Delete buttons — on the task's page and in the Time report's detail list. You can change or remove entries you logged yourself; an admin can change or remove anyone's.

Roll-ups

Logged time is totalled everywhere it's useful:

  • the project page's Tasks tab shows the project's total hours, broken down by team member;
  • the client page's Tasks tab shows that client's total across every task;
  • the Tasks list has an Hours column and a total;
  • the Time report totals every logged hour by client, project, and person for any date range.

What clients see

If a task is visible to a client, they see the total hours logged, not the individual entries — the per-entry breakdown (who logged what, and any notes) stays internal.
