What are Tasks

Goal: understand what a Task is, how it can (or doesn't have to) connect to a client or project, and how to turn the feature on.

What a Task is

A Task is a to-do for your team: a title, a description, a priority, a due date, a status, and (optionally) one assigned team member. A task can be:

  • Tied to a project — inherits that project's client automatically.
  • Tied to a client directly — with no project.
  • Purely internal — no client or project at all, e.g. "restock the studio backdrop."

Off by default

Tasks is a feature you switch on, not something that appears automatically. Turn it on at Settings → Features, in the Tasks card.

Progress statuses

Every task moves through one of five statuses: Waiting, In Progress, Assigned, Waiting on Customer, and Closed. Changing status notifies the assigned team member (unless they're the one who changed it), and the client too if the task is visible to them.

The Tasks list

Open Tasks from the sidebar for the full list. Status and priority show as colour-coded badges — priority runs grey (Low) through amber to red (Urgent), and each status has its own colour — so you can scan the board at a glance.

Closed tasks are hidden by default to keep the list focused on live work. Tick Show closed above the list, or pick Closed in the Status filter, to bring them back. You can also filter by priority, assignee, or internal only; Reset clears every filter at once. An Hours column and total show the time logged against each task.

Next to Tasks at the top of the page is a Time tab — a company-wide report of every logged hour, filterable and exportable to CSV. See Time report.
