What are Showcases

Goal: understand what a Showcase is, how it differs from a gallery or video collection, and how to turn the feature on for your company and your clients.

What a Showcase is

A Showcase is a single curated, shareable page that mixes photos and videos a client already has — pulled from their existing galleries and video collections — into one hand-ordered sequence. Instead of sending a client a photo gallery link and a separate video collection link, a Showcase lets you build one page — a wedding highlight reel with the ceremony film sitting right in the mix among the stills, or a portfolio piece interleaving motion and stills — and share it as a single public link.

A Showcase holds no photos or videos of its own. It points at items already uploaded to one of the client's galleries or collections — nothing is copied, moved, or duplicated, and it uses no extra storage. Editing, re-watermarking, or deleting the original photo or video is reflected in every Showcase it appears in.

Visitors see one page, rendered the same way a photo gallery looks — a mosaic grid — with videos playing inline in the same lightbox as the photos, in whatever order you arranged them.

Off by default

Showcases is a feature you switch on, not something that appears automatically. Until you enable it, there's no Showcases link anywhere and nothing about your account changes.

The three switches

Enable Showcases (Settings → Features) — turns the feature on for your company. This adds a Showcases link to your admin sidebar and a Showcases stat card to your dashboard.
My Showcases (Settings → Client Portal) — additionally adds a Showcases section to the client portal, and lets clients build their own. On by default once Showcases itself is enabled.
Showcases (Settings → Dashboard) — shows or hides the "Recent Showcases" row on your dashboard. Visibility only; it doesn't affect the client portal.

Who can build one

Showcases are the first delivery item your clients can create for themselves, not just view. With My Showcases on, a client can open their own picker of that client's galleries and collections, assemble a Showcase, and publish it — no need to ask your studio to do it for them. Your studio can also build one for a client from the admin side at any time; both use the same curation screen. See Build, curate & share a Showcase.

What enabling adds

Your sidebar — a Showcases link that opens a list of every Showcase across all your clients.
Your dashboard — a Showcases stat card and a Recent Showcases row.
The client portal (when My Showcases is also on) — a My Showcases section in the client's sidebar and dashboard, and an add/curate screen of their own.

What a Showcase isn't

A few things are deliberately out of scope for now:

No proofing or comments. Guest hearts/selections on photos and guest comments on videos — both available on galleries and video collections directly — aren't part of a Showcase.
No Showcase-level watermark. Each photo or video keeps whatever watermark its source gallery or collection already applies.
Not a place to upload new media. A Showcase only pulls from photos and videos that already exist in a gallery or collection — see Upload photos and Upload videos to add new ones first.
