Delete a collection & videos
Goal: permanently remove a video collection — or just a single video inside one — and reclaim the storage it was using.
Delete a whole collection
This removes the collection and every video inside it — all version files (originals, animated preview thumbnails, and any subtitle files) for each video. Any storage the collection used is immediately freed against your plan's quota, and any client shortlinks for the collection stop working (they return a 404).
You can do this from two places — the collections list, or from inside the collection itself:
- From the sidebar go to Videos to open the Video Collections list.
- In the collection's row, click the trash button — or open the collection, go to its Edit tab, and click Delete Collection below the Save Changes button.
- A Delete Collection confirmation modal appears. It warns that the collection and all its videos will be permanently removed and cannot be undone.
- Type DELETE into the box to enable the Delete Collection button.
- Click Delete Collection to confirm.
Delete a single video
You don't have to delete the whole collection to remove one clip. A single video can be removed on its own; the collection and every other video stay put.
- Open the collection and switch to its Videos grid.
- Hover the video you want to remove and click the small button in its top-right corner — or open the video and click Delete Video.
- Confirm the prompt: "Delete this video? This cannot be undone."
Deleting a video removes that video's files (all of its versions, its animated thumbnail, and its subtitle file if one is attached), its database record, and any timestamped comments and per-video shortlinks tied to it. If the video you deleted was the collection's cover video, a new cover is picked at random from the videos that remain.
